Bartolini Umbrian Lentils (Lenticchie Umbre)

Lentils are one of the first legumes that are cultivated and eaten by men. They boast a significant and peculiar nutritional value. Among the plant-based foods, lentils should have a prominent place in the weekly meal plan. They are particularly rich in proteins (with a quantity that is equal to or greater than that of meat), fibers, magnesium, potassium, and iron. 

Our lentils come from organically cultivated lands and the particular climate conditions of these areas give them a very small dimension and a variegated color from green to brown. Moreover, they have a less-thick and very tender peel, so they do not necessarily need to be softened before cooking.
